Welcome to CMMS
The Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies (CMMS) provides high quality English language programs for international students and professionals, offers services that enhance research and instruction in language learning, and coordinates cultural programs that contribute to multicultural awareness and global education.

CMMS: Gateway to Global Opportunities
The Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies is located at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, USA. CMMS offers a variety of programs including our Intensive English Program, which is specially designed to prepare international students to enter universities and colleges in the United States. Students from over 70 countries participate in these sessions. Courses are offered at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Speaking courses and the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) preparation are part of the Intensive English Program at CMMS. The Intensive English Program is available throughout the year during our three 14-week sessions. Other programs include our English Evening Program for US residents and citizens, Accent Reduction (see below), and Special Programs uniquely designed for groups attending short-term.

CMMS is fully accredited The Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies at the University of Central Florida is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) and agrees to uphold the CEA standards for English Language Programs. For further information about this accreditation, please contact the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation, 1725 Duke Street, Suite 500, Alexandria, VA 22314, (703) 519-2070.
Accent Reduction We offer Accent Reduction courses for people that wish to decrease their accent and want to have a more American native-like pronounciation when speaking. This course also helps to improve listening skills while building more confidence to speak in public.

The Barbara Ying Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies, pictured above, is one of the only buildings in the United States to be dedicated to the instruction of English as a Second Language (ESL). While the building may impress you, the content and quality of the instruction offered within surpasses most students' expectations. All full-time instructors have at least completed a Master's degree in a field related to English, Education or TESOL. Many of the instructors have lived and taught English abroad, so they can identify well with students during their cultural transisiton to the United States. CMMS Instructors are dedicated to their profession, their colleagues, and most importantly, their students' success in English and academic achievement. This may explain the continued and rising success of CMMS over the last 20 years.
